What to do when Tesla fell 12% in one day?

Tesla $TLSA fell over 12% following the market's gloomy global outlook and concerns about Elon selling Tesla shares to fund his Twitter $TWTR purchase of $44 billion.  


India looks to ban made in China Tesla

As per the news screenshot above, India does not allow China-made Tesla into the country. Union minister Nitin Gadkari says that there is no issue if Tesla is made in #India. Will India see the building of a new Tesla Gigafactory soon?  Given the population, it will be an attractive Gigafactory location.

Various concerns have been raised including that from Biden administration.  Some are concerned that extremist values would not be censored leading to "content misinformation".  Some investors are concerned that Elon may be distracted and thus, slowing the current growth of Tesla.


From the technical analysis (as per screenshot), the 1D chart from investing.com shows a "STRONG SELL" recommendation for Tesla with the closing price of $875 an important support level and it could be bound for $800.

From the 1D chart above, the MACD remains on a downtrend and the Stochastic indicator continues to move sideways in the "oversold" region.  Thus, it is likely that the price remains on a downtrend from both the macro and Elon's current ventures.


Tesla has displayed good fundamentals and is inching towards investment grade.  While the current lockdown in Shanghai continues, the Tesla plant in Shanghai is back to partial production and thus will be looking.


This is an important earnings week.  With the heavy weightage of the indices resting on the shoulders of the Big Tech, their less than favourable earnings can send the current market correction into bear territory.  Let us continue to monitor closely as the market is not rational.  However, this will also provide great opportunities if great companies are available at good discounts.
